The Shape of the Journey

Before, during, and after

This retreat combines a full mindfulness-based program with a five-day residential retreat in the Dutch countryside, held at a ratio of one facilitator to every two participants.

The shape of the journey — from first step to ongoing support

A journey in three movements

The work begins long before the retreat and continues long after. Each phase is held with care, and each builds on the last.

Before

Preparation

Several weeks of group preparation

In group meetings of two to two-and-a-half hours, we get settled, learn to co-regulate with one another's nervous systems, and practice vulnerability and the art of letting go. This phase focuses on establishing or deepening mindfulness practice, and foregrounding compassion and our connection to ourselves, our bodies, each other, and the natural world.

During

The Retreat

  • Nature walks
  • Sharing circles
  • Creative activities
  • Journaling prompts
  • Breathwork

After

Integration

4 weekly online 2-hour sessions, followed by four months of monthly sessions

Weaving the insights of the experience into daily life so they can be carried forward. Held in the rhythm of the land, the retreat invites a felt reconnection — to our own bodies, to one another, to the earth beneath us, and to those who came before us.

  • Group integration sessions
  • Personal reflection practices
  • Ongoing community support
  • Invitation to the ongoing circle

One facilitator to every two participants

An intentionally small group will help increase the sense of group connectedness and trust, and everyone's healing journey will support yours, and vice versa. You and every woman in the group will be supported closely, personally, and with full attention throughout.
